Due to the ongoing blizzard we’ll skip scouts tonight. I’m guessing most of you had figured that out already, but I wanted to make it official! We will plan to meet next week. Same time & place.
We will resume our weekly scout meetings next Monday, January 15th at 7:30pm. No meeting tonight – have too many sick or otherwise unable to attend. Sorry for the late notice. Enjoy your evenings, and please plan to come next week! We will be voting for new positions and possibly reorganizing the patrols, so please be sure to come. Remember – class A uniforms are required!
This Saturday at 9 am at St.Paul we will be filling bags full of goodies for Christmas Eve. We will also be handing out the bags also on Christmas Eve. Please let me know if you are able to make it or not.
Remember that there is a Court of Honor this coming Monday 12/11/17. Wear full uniform shirt, necky and slide, badge sash, and jeans or scout pants. no shorts or sweats. Eagles have snacks and Sharks have flags. Be there at 7-7:15. Have a story from camp and bring your finest jokes.
Any adults who want to be merit badge counselors come at 6:00.
Just got a text from Lynn – the heater isn’t working at Heritage Hall. So – dress warm! See you in 40 minutes.
Please plan to attend the litter pickup at 1:00pm TODAY. Meet at Heritage Hall. Also, I apologize to those of you who didn’t know about our change in plans this weekend. Troop campout moved to Nov 3-5 due to several scheduling conflicts. We WILL have a meeting this Monday at 7:30pm to pack for camp and finalize plans.
Good morning scouters! I just wanted to remind everyone about our weekly meetings at Heritage Hall, every Monday night at 7:30pm. Tonight we’re going to be having a very important meeting regarding our scheduled troop campout and litter pickup this weekend. The weather looks like it may or may not cooperate and we may need to adjust our plans slightly depending on what happens with that. Saturday morning litter pickup may need to be reconsidered (30-35 degrees and 15-20mph wind at 10am upon last check.) We may need to have a tentative plan based on weather conditions and make a call late in the week so we can be prepared either way.
See you tonight. If you can’t make it please let me know ASAP so we can get your input on the weekend.
I wanted to send a message out to clarify some things about the BSA’s decision last week to allow girls to join the Boy Scouts. Various media outlets like to elaborate a bit and report their slanted perspective of what actually happened. Here are the details:
The charter organization is in charge of how the packs and troops are chartered. In our case, that’s the American Legion. They will choose whether cub scout packs will be all-boy, all-girl, or a mix.
This change won’t take effect until the FALL of 2018 for Cub Scout Packs. In the case of a co-ed pack, each den would remain single-gender.
Boy Scout Troops aren’t scheduled to have any changes made until 2019. No exact details have been released yet, but I would anticipate something similar to the model outlined for cub scout packs.
If you have any questions, please contact either me or Rob and we’ll see if we can get you an answer.
I apologize for the late notice – but we’ll be skipping our meeting tonight. The scoutmaster can’t make it, and a few of our scouts have also said they weren’t able to be there this evening. Weekly Monday night meetings will resume next Monday, October 16, at 7:30pm, at Heritage Hall.
